NEW DELHI: Calling for solidarity amongst all factions in Madhya Pradesh to dislodge the BJP, senior Congress chief Digvijaya Singh has, however, stated he has no objection to veteran Congressman and ex-President Pranab Mukherjee sharing the dais with RSS Sarsanghchalak Mohan Bhagwat.
“If the RSS had invited me, I would have additionally gone. What’s wrong in sharing the dais with RSS sarsanghchalak? I would have gone and proven them the replicate, put forth our ideology,” Singh, a fierce critic of the Sangh, advised ET. “But I disagree with what he stated about [RSS founder KB] Hedgewar being a super son of India. He wasn’t great.”

Singh’s endorsement of Mukherjee’s determination to visit the RSS previous this month comes close at the heels of an argument he kicked up in MP the place he stated the RSS propagated “violence, hatred and terrorism”. Singh, a former Madhya Pradesh leader minister, leads the Congress coordination committee and has been retaining Ekta Yatra throughout MP to deliver together birthday celebration workers within the faction-ridden Congress unit.


“The biggest problem before the Congress is factionalism. Right now, we wish to deliver everyone together and paintings in opposition to one function – dislodging the BJP govt. After travelling widely, I can see that Congress workers around the state share this one feeling – oust the BJP. This is essential for us,” he stated, including that the reaction to his makes an attempt in striking up a united front were met with “warmth and exuberance”.
