BHUBANESWAR: The Congress will name for a statewide shutdown over the Mahanadi river factor, Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee (OPCC) President Niranjan Patnaik stated on Saturday.
He stated a decision at the date of the Odisha shutdown might be taken after discussions with like-minded political events and other organisations.
He alleged that both the Centre and the state executive shouldn't have any concern for the folks of Odisha and are losing crocodile tears at the Mahanadi water crisis.
Patnaik stated that Prime Minister Narendra Modi kept away from giving any assurance to Odisha to unravel the dispute with Chhattisgarh all over his contemporary visit to Cuttack.
Besides, the Odisha executive did nothing to protect the interests of the folks of the state till 2015 and is now losing crocodile tears, he added.
As many as 29 corporations had signed memorandums of understanding with the Odisha executive for the status quo of industries. But a few of them have now grew to become to Chhattisgarh, stated Patnaik.
He stated barrages were built through the Chhattisgarh executive at the Mahanadi river to provide water to those initiatives.
The Congress has also referred to as for a six-hour 'Chaka bandh' from 6 a.m. on June 4 in Bhubaneswar and Cuttack towards the fuel price hike.
"We request the people of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack not to use their vehicles on June 4 from 6 a.m. to 12 p.m. as a mark of protest against the unprecedented rise in prices of petrol, diesel and LPG by the BJP-led NDA Government at the Centre," stated the OPCC president. ians
