One of Haryana’s most wanted gangsters nabbed in Hyderabad

GURUGRAM/PANCHKULA: The special process power (STF) of Haryana Police arrested Sampat Nehra, an in depth aide of gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, from his hideout in Hyderabad on Wednesday evening. Nehra is without doubt one of the most wanted criminals in Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana and Chandigarh, with a reward on his head totalling Rs 2 lakh, together with cash reward of Rs 1 lakh by Haryana Police and Rs 50,000 each by Rajasthan and Punjab Police.

Haryana Police’s special process power (STF) carried out the raid with Cyberabad police after they gained information about Nehra’s hideout in Hyderabad.

The STF team, led by inspector-general of police (IGP) Saurabh Singh and deputy inspector-general (DIG) Satish Balan, carried out the raid in Gokul Enclave, Venkata Ramana Colony beneath Miyapur police station of Hyderabad.

“With law enforcement officials of 3 states attempting to find Nehra, he left Chandigarh and took safe haven in Khorba, Chattisgarh for some time. He got here to Hyderabad 20 days in the past and stayed in a rented space in Gokul Enclave,” Cyberabad police stated in a press liberate.

Originally from Kalauri village in Churu, Rajasthan, Nehra studied in Chandigarh, where his father was once a cop. He met Bishnoi, who is lodged in Jodhpur prison, whilst in college. A sharpshooter within the latter’s gang, Nehra have been active in student politics in Panjab University.

Bishnoi, together with his aides Rana Karamjit Singh and Yadvinder Singh alias Yadu, was once sentenced to 2 years’ rigorous imprisonment on October 23, 2017, for escaping from police custody. Since then Nehra, who Bishnoi’s sharpshooter, took charge of the gang whilst Bishnoi operated out of prison.

Nehra began his journey into the darkish facet with carjacking. He went to take contracts for murder and to extort cash from people in 3 states. “Sampat was once taking suparis thru gangs in Rohtak and Sonipat,” stated a senior police officer, including Nehra wanted to be famous as a best don.

In the past few months, Nehra had shifted his center of attention from Haryana and Punjab to Rajasthan. In May 2018, he had killed Ganganagar (Rajasthan) -based gangster Jorden, to make his presence felt within the desolate tract state. He had allegedly made a couple of extortion calls to businessmen there already. “Punjab and Haryana police were seeking to catch him, so he grew to become to Rajasthan,” stated a police officer.


The gang’s crime file include the tried murder of an INLD ex-MLA’s brother, ransom call for of Rs three crore from Chandigarh drugstore chain owner Ashwani Kumar, firing at police to free his affiliate Deepak from custody, and killing Karaur-resident Anand in Kurukshetra, Punjab, after looting his Ford Endeavour SUV at gunpoint, together with a gang member, besides several different circumstances of robbery, loot, extortion and murder.
