BHUBANESWAR: Forty-five analysis students of Utkal University are observing uncertainty after the college permitted their PhD theses on May 31 - the last day for filing them - however refused to take the submission rate. Usually, the varsity accepts 3 laborious copies of a pupil's PhD thesis in conjunction with a financial institution draft of the submission rate.
In the case of those 45 scholars - who have already crossed the eight-year deadline set for the submission of PhD thesis however had been pardoned and asked to send in their paperwork by May 31 - the college permitted a troublesome replica of the thesis and a cushy replica. It did not receive the financial institution draft.
These scholars have confronted a rocky street in their analysis careers. Though they failed to complete their paintings on time, they had been allowed to publish their theses by the college's educational council on April 19, 2017, after requests from lecturers. On June 16, 2017, the college wrote to the educational council members, asking them to tell the students to publish their theses undoubtedly prior to May 31.
The students, registered for the PhD programme with effect from June 1, 2005, managed to get approval from the topic analysis committee (SRC), which recommends the analysis project of the scholar, prior to the overall submission date. "We arranged for the bank draft of Rs 24,500 and came to the university with three hard copies of our theses but the PhD section received only one hard copy and one soft copy. It did not accept the bank draft," stated a pupil.
Moreover, the vice-chancellor (VC) is yet to approve the theses - any other essential step of the theses submission process. "The May 31 deadline is over but the VC has not approved our theses. How can the university say that final theses submission has been done?" stated any other pupil.
P K Behera, the exam controller of the college, stated the submitted theses had been sent for the VC's approval. "Those who have submitted a hard and a soft copy of the theses before May 31 should not worry. They can submit the bank drafts (issued before May 31) in our office after the VC approves the theses," he added.
