CHENNAI: A PIL has been filed within the Madras High Court seeking a course to the Chennai Metro Rail Corporation to fix its fares on par with that of suburban train products and services.
In the petition, MGR Viswanathan, a resident of suburb Pattabiram, additionally sought for a course the metro rail company to fix the minimal fare for shuttle by way of metro rail at Rs 5.

He claimed in his petition that the BJP, which heads the NDA executive on the Centre, had up to now confident to fix the fares of the Chennai Metro on par with the suburban train fares.


The fare in suburban electrical train carrier from Chennai Central (Park) to Trisulam (Chennai airport), a distance of 18km is most effective Rs 5 and the price ticket fare of suburban electrical train from Chennai Beach to Tambaram (27 km) is Rs 10 most effective, the petitioner submitted.
