Rajiv assassination: 'I want our agony to end'

CHENNAI: Rajiv Gandhi assassination case convict A G Perarivalan’s mom Arputhammal on Sunday stated she would write to the to the central and Tamil Nadu governments quickly looking for euthanasia (mercy killing) for herself and her son “to finish our agony.”

“I can write to both the governments, looking for mercy killing for myself and my son. I can send the letter quickly after consulting with my son’s advocates,” she advised TOI.


“There is not any that means in endeavouring the pain if the federal government isn't keen to set my son free,” she stated citing the Centre’s determination not to liberate the lifestyles convicts in the assassination case.


Arputhammal, 71, stated her husband Kuyildasan (alias) Gnanasekaran’s health condition had deteriorated after he had learned about the Centre’s determination. He was satisfied and his health progressed when their son came home on parole ultimate year. But the hot construction undid the whole thing and devasted their hope in their son's liberate.


“We had been suffering for the reason that arrest of my son on the age of 19 in connection with the previous PM’s assassination case. My son has been suffering bodily and psychologically in the back of the partitions of the prison for the ultimate 27 years. We had been suffering outside the prison most of these years,” she stated.
