HYDERABAD: A 10-year-old lady used to be allegedly raped and killed by a labourer in Nirmal district of Telangana, police stated on Sunday.
The incident befell in Soan mandal of the district on Saturday, they stated.
The accused Pravin Kumar(26) took the girl, who used to be playing near her space, to an isolated position under some pretext and allegedly "raped and later murdered" her, police stated.
The lady's folks looked for her and later lodged a criticism with the police after which a missing case used to be registered.
Subsequently, some locals found the body of the minor lady this afternoon and alerted her folks and police, they added.
Police picked up Pravin and throughout the process investigation he reportedly confessed to "raping and murdering" the girl.
A case has been registered under related sections of IPC and under related provisions of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, the police stated.
