Rash driving by doctor injures seven people in Derlakatte

Mangaluru: Seven people, together with two younger medical doctors, were injured after a automobile pushed through a doctor rammed into an autorickshaw in Kukkudakatte close to Yenepoya medical institution on Saturday evening. Rash and negligent driving is said to be the reason for the coincidence.

Police said the incident took place around 11.45pm. An autorickshaw pushed through Divakar, 35, a resident of Asaigoli with 4 passengers in it, which included George, Rajendra, Prakash and Akhilraj, was moving against Asaigoli. When the autorickshaw reached close to Kukkudakatte, a automobile pushed rashly through accused Sameer Mehra and co-passenger Sowmya, overtook a car rashly, and met with a head-on collision with the autorickshaw pushed through Divakar, which was coming from the wrong way. Police said that due to the have an effect on, the entrance portion of the autorickshaw was utterly mangled.


Locals who rushed to the spot, controlled to remove the autorickshaw motive force, who had were given caught within the mangled car. The injured had been rushed to a close-by personal medical institution for remedy.


Police suspect that this is a case of drunk driving. The case is being investigated. The locals, who accused the auto motive force of being intoxicated, thrashed him after the coincidence. A case has been registered within the Ullal police station.
