RPF rescues five girls and a boy from trafficker in Assam

GUWAHATI: Railway Protection Force (RPF) rescued 5 women and a boy from a lady trafficker from Assam's Rangiya station, NF Railway (NFR) informed on Tuesday.

NFR leader public relations officer Pranav Jyoti Sharma mentioned that the rescue operation was once conducted on Monday following a tip-off about the imaginable trafficking try.

Sharma mentioned the girls, boy and the alleged trafficker Rohila Basumatary have been all from Silapathar in Dhemaji district on the northern part of the state. They have been on the station's waiting room to board a train to Gujarat for jobs in fish packaging company.


"Rescued girls and the boy along with trafficker were kept at the Rangiya RPF post for further action as per rule," Sharma mentioned.


He informed that all through 2017 RPF rescued 515 minor kids and arrested 11 traffickers from stations beneath NFR'jurisdiction.


"This year RPF has already rescued nearly 244 children from railway premises all over NFR," he added.


In another incident RPF personnel here arrested a person Sukur Ali, 19, excited by snatching incident from Guwahati Railway station. One mobile phone belonging to Don Kumar Marak value Rs 15,000 was once also recovered from Ali.
