MUMBAI: Mumbaikars, prepare yourselves for a rainy weekend, as Thursday’s heavy pre-monsoon showers appear to be most effective the beginning of what lies ahead. If one is going by the India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecast, the town is prone to witness an identical thundershowers and heavy rainfall at isolated puts on Friday; Saturday may see even heavier showers.
Weathermen, even though, have not yet formally declared the onset of monsoon over Mumbai, as till Thursday, it had most effective reached Goa. Ajay Kumar, scientist, IMD Mumbai, stated, “We expect monsoon to achieve maximum parts of Maharashtra, together with Mumbai, within the subsequent 72 hours or sooner than Sunday,” he stated.
A low pressure space is prone to form over Bay of Bengal, which is able to lead to heavy rainfall in Mumbai. IMD has a set of standards to declare the onset of monsoon—south-west wind path and the town will have to report two straight days of showers.

Nanded, Latur, Osmanabad, Hingoli and a couple of other spaces in Marathwada got really extensive rain; 16 circles got more than 65mm and a few 100mm.
