'Sleepwalking' girl dies after falling into well

CHENNAI: A 15-year-old lady from the town's outskirts died after slipping right into a smartly, apparently while sleepwalking, say police.

The deceased, P Ramya of Brahamanar Street in Kancheepuram, was once a Class X scholar in an area government school. Her father Parthasarathy gave up the ghost a few years in the past and she or he was once staying together with her married elder sister P Sathya at Ullavaagai village. Ramya cleared her Class X state board assessments by way of scoring 456 out of 500.


On June 14, she went lacking from her residence, and Sathya and her family members weren't in a position to find her until June 15. While they had been planning to record a lacking complaint with police the next morning, her frame was once discovered floating in a farm smartly in nearby agricultural fields. Locals informed police and her frame was once recovered and despatched to Cheyyar Government Hospital for post-mortem.


The police said preliminary investigations advised that Ramya suffered from somnambulism - popularly known as sleepwalking - and she or he may have slipped into the smartly while sleepwalking on June 14. The Thoosi police have filed a case in line with her family members' complaint.
