TRICHY: Trichy has been ranked 79th on the list of 87 smart towns, selected on benefit foundation across India. The Union ministry of housing and concrete affairs on Tuesday launched the smart city score list.
“Most of the towns in fascinating positions equivalent to Coimbatore (rank 14) and Ahmedabad (rank 3) were selected beneath smart city challenge in round 1. Whereas Trichy was once selected in round 3, a reason why Trichy has fared comparatively a low rating than towns indexed in round 1,” a senior legit with the Trichy Corporation mentioned.

Stating that all the initiatives proposed beneath the smart city challenge were progressing, corporation officials asserted that implementation of smart city initiatives would start in August.
Officials mentioned 18 initiatives – at an estimated value of Rs 1,200 crore -- were underway in the Trichy smart city challenge.
“All the initiatives beneath smart city challenge are progressing, and we're constantly in dialogue with the specialists,” the legit added.
