Train traffic on Mangaluru-Bengaluru route restored following landslip

MANGALURU: Train site visitors that was affected due to landslide at the Shirady Ghat section over Hassan–Mangaluru section on Thursday was restored by means of 5.30pm.
Continuous heavy rain ended in landslide at the railway line at kilometre 86/200–85/900 between Shirivagilu and Subramhanya Road railway stations over Mysuru department of South Western Railway, divisional railway PRO Y G Sathish, mentioned.


Train 16516 Karwar–Yesvantpur specific had reached Subrahmanya Road station when the landslide took place. All the passengers were equipped food and beverages at the station. The educate was cancelled between Subrahmanya Road and Yesvantpur for the day and full refund of fare arranged for passengers of the educate at Subrahmanya Road station.


The empty rake was sent to Mangaluru junction and passengers who were willing to return to Mangalore allowed to travel in the educate.


Train 16575 Yesvantpur–Mangaluru junction Gomateshwara specific was cancelled between Kadagaravalli and Mangaluru junction for the day. Since Kadagaravalli is a block station with amenities to be had just for operational functions, food items were moved in educate engine from Sakleshpur and equipped to passengers.


The educate was brought from Kadagaravalli to Hassan junction where passengers could move by means of alternate shipping amenities to their places of choice. KSRTC officers at Hassan were alerted about arrival of passengers at Hassan station.
