Unrest brewing among APRTC employees

VIJAYAWADA: Employees Union (EU) known as for protests across the state a day ahead of the Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC) board assembly on Tuesday. The which lost its reputation to National Mazdur Union (NMU) within the closing elections, has been opposing hired buses.


The EU requires lunch time protests in opposition to the proposed transfer of increasing hired buses from existing 20 according to cent to 35 according to cent. Speaking to TOI, the extra normal secretary of EU, P Dhamodhar said that expanding the hired buses is not anything but to reduce the team of workers.


He alleged that the APSRTC has already reduced 5,000 staff up to now after the state bifurcation. The APSRTC during the same period higher 260 hired buses while reducing 800 personal buses. ‘We are also in opposition to the orders issued thru a circular on 15th June which can building up the work burden on upkeep team of workers’ he said.


Another major call for that the EU put forth was to give 27 according to cent Interim Relief (IR) because the pay revision has now not been accomplished since 1st April 2017. Dhamodhar said the new pay revision was pending since more than a yr now. So we are tough to give 27 according to cent IR as given on previous instance within the combined state he said. He also warned that they are going to announce long term plan of action in keeping with the decisions taken on Tuesdays assembly.
