KALYAN: A 40-year-old girl and a hitman had been arrested on Friday night for the alleged murder of her 44-year-old husband in Kalyan following the sufferer’s opposition to the sale of a Rs 15-crore belongings that he owned. Police stated the woman, Asha Gaikwad, had promised Rs 30 lakh to Himanshu Dubey, and paid him Rs 4 lakh as advance for the hit job.

Police have launched a hunt to trace down three different accused who are suspected of helping the duo within the crime. They were identified as Jagan Mahatre, Raj Singh and Pritam.

Police stated they've accessed name information of the woman’s chats with pals about her husband’s opposition to the property sale and her plan to get him killed.

Victim Shankar Gaikwad’s family alleged that Asha wanted to sell off a 25,000-square-feet belongings owned by means of her husband and had approved Rs 4 lakh as advance from a developer. The relatives have demanded a probe into the developer’s position within the crime too.

Shankar, a belongings dealer, lived inTisgaon in Kalyan (East) with Asha and their three kids aged eight, 10 and 12.

Sources stated on May 21, Asha approached Kolsewadi police to document that Shankar had long gone missing since May 18 after leaving for Satara to talk over with a spiritual position.

Shankar’s family stated they suspected Asha as she didn't appear to be frightened about her husband and so they had been additionally unsatisfied with the police probe.

On May 25, Shankar’s family wrote to senior police officials, together with the ACP and the DCP, tough an investigation into the disappearance.

Suvarna Pawshe, Shankar’s relative, stated, “When we discovered that Asha had wanted to sell Shankar’s belongings in opposition to his needs, we once again approached senior officials, who handed over the case to senior police inspector Kavi Gavit of Kolsewadi police.”

Police resources stated Gavit checked Asha’s cell phone and chat information to find that she was once in constant contact with Dubey. Cops grilled both of them together and so they reportedly confessed to the crime.

During her interrogation, Asha instructed law enforcement officials that she had made up our minds to get her husband killed because he was once in opposition to her telephone chats. Asha further stated she gave an advance of Rs 4 lakh as a part of the promised Rs 30 lakh supari to Dubey. The three different accused who aided the crime are at massive.

The police stated on May 18, Asha allegedly served sedative-laced juice to Shankar and he fell subconscious. Himanshu and the opposite accused thereafter took Shankar in an autorickshaw to an isolated spot between Wangani and Neral, where they assaulted him with iron rods and stabbed him to demise.

Police stated on Friday they visited the spot and recovered the decomposed body. After engaging in a panchnama, they handed over the body to Shakar’s two brothers in Kalyan.


Kishor Gaikwad, Shankar’s younger brother, instructed TOI: “So some distance, the police have instructed us that Asha killed my brother because he was once in opposition to her the usage of the telephone to speak but we now have robust doubts about her reason and the position of a few developer within the crime. Asha didn't have cash to pay the ransom quantity on her personal and she wanted to sell the property which my brother opposed.”


Kishor further alleged that Asha had approved cash from the builder and some politicians had been eying the property.


DCP Sanjay Shinde stated, “The probe is within the initial stage and we investigating all angles, together with the property issue.”


Senior police inspector Gavit stated, “So some distance, we now have not found the position of any builder within the killing but our probe is on.”
