UDUPI: At least two other people have been killed and two severely injured in a road accident on National Highway 66 near Nayampalli Madi Mallikarjuna Temple near Santhakatte at 10.15am on Saturday.
The deceased have been identified as mini-truck driver Sunder Shettigar, 50, of Korangarapadi and car driver Shravan G Hegde, 28, of Brahmavar.
According to police, Shravan was using his doctor friend’s car from Manipal to Kundapur. He lost control over the auto and hit the divider. The car toppled, veered off the road and hit the mini-truck coming from Brahmavar to Udupi. Both the automobiles have been utterly damaged. Ganesh and Shivaraj, who have been in the tempo was severely injured being handled on the health facility.
A case was registered in Udupi site visitors police station.
