CHENNAI: Two people have been killed and eight others injured when the sand-laden truck they have been touring in rammed into an average and became turtle near Sriperumbudur early on Monday.
The decesased have been identidied as Sriram, the truck driving force, and Elumalai, 40, who was seated on the sand that the truck was wearing.
Police said, the sand-laden truck was going from Keelmanabedu in Tiruvallur district against Sriperambadur during the early hours of Monday when the twist of fate came about.
As the truck reached Manur village, Sriram misplaced keep an eye on of the truck while negotiating a flip and hit an average. On impact, the truck overturned and fell right into a pit. The driving force was trapped underneath the truck and died on the spot. People have been unable to raise the vehicle and rescue him.
