MADRID: Thousands of Amazon employees went on strike in Spain and Germany on Tuesday in protest at their running conditions because the retail massive staged its Prime Day sales event, unions said.

In Spain, workers in San Fernando de Henares close to Madrid -- Amazon's greatest logistics centre in the nation -- have been observing a 2d day of work stoppage which used to be due to continue on Wednesday.

Ana Berceruelo of the CCOO union informed AFP that 1,200 employees have been taking part -- round 80 in keeping with cent of the centre's group of workers.
