LUDHIANA: Prabhjot Sharma (20), a beautician of Lalton village, has gone lacking from her area. Her family has accused her cousins of confining her, and her mother Aruna Bala has also alleged the accused known as her twice to threaten her with dire penalties if she approached the police. Sadar police have registered a case against two brothers — Dheeraj Sharma and Nitish Sharma of Lalton village — beneath sections 346 (wrongful confinement in secret) and 506 (prison intimidation) of the IPC.
In her complaint to the police, Bala stated her daughter had gone lacking from her area on June 24. After in search of her, the family lodged a police complaint. Later on July 2, she received a choice from Dheeraj, who informed her that Prabhjot was with him. He also threatened her to not way the police. Further, on July 12 also, she received a choice from every other choice of Dheeraj, who once more threatened her.
In-charge at Lalton police publish, ASI Ashwani Kumar, stated on receiving the complaint, the police have booked each the accused, who're cousins of Prabhjot, and are looking to trace them.
