Builder’s widow seeks CBI probe into his suicide

GURUGRAM: The widow of a city-based developer, Vinod Sharma, who dedicated suicide previous this month allegedly due to pressure from a senior officer of the Gurugram police, has demanded a CBI probe into the case.
On Tuesday, Meenu Sharma, a Sector 54 resident in conjunction with other family members, met Gurugram deputy commissioner Vinay Pratap Singh to press for the call for.

She alleged that the police were not investigating the case correctly and had been trying to protect their officer. She additionally submitted bank details, showing transactions from accounts of the accused DCP’s family members to that of Vinod, and vice versa.

The 48-year-old developer shot himself in the chest in his The Summit house on July 4, and sooner or later succumbed to his injuries on July 7.

The police had found a suicide word during which Vinod had held Delhi-based businessman Arvind Lakra responsible for his dying. Accordingly, an FIR was once filed against Lakra and his circle of relatives underneath Section 306 (abatement to suicide) of the IPC.


Later, in her grievance, Meenu accused a DCP, these days posted in Gurugram, and his family members, with the exception of Lakra, of abating her husband’s suicide.


She alleged her husband was once forced to switch a flat in Surya Vihar to the names of the DCP’s spouse and mother in December 2017. “On July 2, the DCP requested my husband to pay Rs three.26 crore, hard the first installment of Rs 50 lakh by means of July 4,” alleged Meenu.


A spokesperson for Gurugram police, Subhash Bokan, stated the case have been forwarded to the state CID for further investigation.
