LUDHIANA: Punjab jails and cooperation minister Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa on Thursday announced that Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) will take over the inner security of high-security jails into its own arms inside a week in Punjab. Randhawa was once chatting with media individuals after presiding over a state level function arranged via Punjab govt to pay tributes to Baba Maharaj Singh on his 162nd Martyrdom Day in Rabbon Uchhi village of the district.
Randhawa said that he has gained the tips from the union house ministry about sending of CISF to guard jails which have lodged dreaded criminals and gangsters, inside a week.
He added that for drug addict inmates, more psychiatrists shall be deputed in prison hospitals and yoga classes may also be started so that after they come out from prisons as refined individuals.
On being quizzed, Randhawa informed that cooperative division is also making ready a suggestion to incorporate 2.5 lakh landless contributors of Agricultural societies who belong to SC, BC, and OBC classes and had taken the loans below Rs 25000, in the debt-waiver scheme of Punjab govt. He said that proposal shall be despatched to the Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh for his approval.
Exhorting the people especially the women to return forward and join the combat with the government to fully wipe out the medicine from Punjab, he asked them to present information about the individuals considering drug peddling of their villages.
“There is need of a revolution to make Punjab a drug-free state for which govt wishes your reinforce”, Minister added and said we will have to follow the footsteps of Baba Maharaj Singh who was once a first martyr of the freedom combat of the rustic so that we can satisfy his desires.
However addressing the collection in the function, he said it was once unfortunate for the rustic and Sikh neighborhood that British govt were given the information about the anti-British motion of Baba Maharaj Singh and it put him into Jail and later shifted to Singapore where he were given martyred on July 5, 1856.
Randhawa announced a grant of Rs 5 lakh via Punjab govt for Gurdwara Damdama Sahib Parbandhak committee. He also claimed to present a financial help of Rs 2 lakh grant from his discretionary funds for the construction of bathrooms for Girls separately in Government High School in Rabbon Uchi village.
Moreover, he said that the sewage community may also be laid down as demanded via other folks. He also claimed to talk with PWD minister to absorb the matter of widening the road.
