NEW DELHI: Despite his hand-to-mouth life, the rickshaw puller saved aside some cash for candies and toys for his six-year-old daughter, the one lady amongst his seven youngsters. Three days after the lady was raped, allegedly by a eunuch, within the vicinity of Minto Road, the daddy is dreading the nightmare confronting his daughter for life.
“The eunuch all the time pretended to handle my lady like she was his personal daughter. But she ended up giving her sedatives, thrashing her and ravaging her,” the distressed guy informed TOI on Tuesday. “What can we tell her about her early life when she grows up? Right now, we don’t even know if she will get well from her accidents or not.”
The father and his friends take a seat desultorily outdoor the extensive care unit of the clinic where the little lady is being treated. “She is unconscious more often than not, however each time she regains her senses, she weakly raises her arm and calls out for me. She asks me to lend a hand her,” choked the daddy.
The Delhi Commission for Women has prolonged monetary assistance for the treatment of the six-year-old and has assured of her rehabilitation later. This has relieved, for the instant, the immense anxieties of the rickshaw puller. “Though I don’t earn more than Rs 500 in a day, I make sure that my circle of relatives of 9 does not face problems. We are pleased with the little we now have,” he said. “But now my daughter’s medical treatment will value us more than possibly what I can ever earn in an entire life.”
The law enforcement officials have arrested the eunuch, Baiju, and others could quickly be booked too. “We are scanning CCTV pictures from the realm to find out who the co-accused could be,” said a police officer involved within the investigation.
The circle of relatives is worried — and scarred for life. “I will not go back to the footpath where we now have been living for years. I can by no means get any sleep there now,” the daddy said. “And even though my daughter recovers, how will she sleep at the same footpath once more?”
Recalling the fateful Saturday, the rickshaw puller said he was knowledgeable by a child that his daughter have been taken away in a small car by some eunuchs. “I alerted the law enforcement officials, however neither my daughter nor the accused could be tracked down until 4 hours later, when she was discovered in a forested space.
