NEW DELHI: On the eve of his 37th birthday, former India captain MS Dhoni has etched his identify in history books via becoming the 3rd Indian cricketer to play 500 global suits. Dhoni's participation in the second one T20I of the three-match collection towards England marks his 500th global appearance.
Dhoni, who had retired from Test cricket in December 2014, performed 90 Test suits, 318 ODIs and 92 T20Is till date to develop into the 9th participant overall to reach the landmark.
Dhoni had scored 4876 runs with six loads and 33 part centuries before calling it an afternoon in Test cricket. He had gathered 9967 runs with 10 centuries and 67 part centuries in ODIs.
