Gurugram: 'Rape survivor' booked for extortion

GURUGRAM: A 24-year-old girl, who had previous accused her ‘boyfriend’ of raping her for four years, has been booked on charges of extortion, allegedly for not easy Rs 7 lakh from him to withdraw the case. Her boyfriend used to be arrested after she accused him of rape.

Police stated brother of the 28-year-old guy, lodged in Bhondsi prison, filed a grievance on Monday, alleging that the lady had falsely implicated him within the case. He additionally claimed that he recently spoke to the lady over telephone, and he or she demanded cash to take back her grievance.

The Uchana (Jind) resident claimed to have recorded his dialog and submitted its replica, at the side of his grievance, to police officers at Sector 14 police station.

Acting at the grievance, an FIR has been registered in opposition to the lady, who is from West Bengal, underneath sections 384 (extortion) and 389 (putting particular person worry of accusation with a view to commit extortion) of the IPC.
