JOHANNESBURG: Prime Minister Narendra Modi nowadays said he held "wide-ranging and productive" talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin here on the sidelines of the BRICS Summit, and emphasized that the friendship between the 2 international locations was once deep-rooted.

The two leaders had a complete dialogue on bilateral problems with mutual interest, especially in business, investment, power, defence and tourism, Ministry of External Affairs Spokesperson Raveesh Kumar said in a tweet later.
