CHANDIGARH: The state information fee (SIC) Haryana has imposed a advantageous of Rs 25,000 at the former principal-cum-state public information officer (SPIO) of DAV Girls College, Yamunanagar, for denying information underneath the RTI to an assistant professor of the institute.
Former essential Sushma Arya is presently posted as registrar of DAV University in Jalandhar.
In its orders, the SIC has directed the non-public university authorities to deduct the amount from her wage and deposit it with the fee. Then SPIO Sushma Arya denied the information on frivolous grounds, citing exemption underneath Section 8 of the RTI Act. Thereafter, Kansal filed an attraction with the president of the governing body of the school, who also upheld the essential’s decision.
When he filed an attraction before the SIC, the new principal-cum-SPIO, Vibha Gupta supplied the information. However, in its July 5, 2017 orders, the SIC issued a show-cause realize to former essential, Sushma Arya, asking her to appear in my opinion before the fee in August 2017 and to provide an explanation for as to why penalty must no longer be imposed on her for denying the information without any valid reason. On May 7, she had submitted her answer via her suggest.
After hearing the submissions of both the events, the SIC rejected all of the submissions of the then SPIO and imposed a value of Rs 25,000 at the former essential. On her retirement, the essential joined as registrar of a non-public university near Jalandhar.
With those orders, the non-public university has to deduct this quantity from her wage and to deposit it to the state information fee.
According to the appellant, he had sought similar information from 50 different private and govt colleges of Haryana. While all of the other colleges supplied the information, only the then essential of DAV girls school Yamunanagar had refused.
