Highway robbers strike again on Palakkad-Coimbatore road, robs Kerala businessman of car and Rs 1.5 lakh in cash
COIMBATORE: A four-member gang waylaid a Kerala-based businessman and robbed him of Rs 1.five lakh in money at knifepoint close to Madukkarai Marappalam at the Palakkad - Coimbatore street within the early hours of Monday. The gang contributors drove away the auto belonging to the businessman, identified as P Khan Singh, 32.
Singh, a native of Rajasthan, has a hardware shop in Thrissur in Kerala. He used to be coming to Coimbatore to purchase some hardware items.
Around four.30am, when he used to be nearing Madukkarai Marappalam, a four-member gang intercepted his car. The gang contributors threatened him at knifepoint and robbed him of Rs 1.five lakh and two cellphones sooner than escaping in his car.
The businessman suffered minor accidents on his right ear. He sought the lend a hand from different motorists and approached the Coimbatore rural police. The police in an instant started automobile assessments. However, they might now not hint the auto and the robbers.
The Madukkarai police registered a case.
