AMARAVATI: Kurukshetra being a significant site for Hindus owing to the epic struggle of the Mahabharata, where Lord Krishna preached the Bhagwad Gita to warrior prince Arjuna, Lord Venkateshwara Temple having opened right here in Haryana on Sunday will have to no longer surprise anyone.
Temple was opened to public by leader minister Manohar Lal Khattar.
So, Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) decided to build Lord Venkateshwara Temple right here, near Brahma Sarovar. Spread over 5.52 acres of land, the temple is largest in north India.

Spread over 5.52 acres of land and costing around Rs 35 crore, the Tirupati Balaji temple in Kurukshetra is Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam’s (TTD) largest undertaking north of the Vindhyas. The Kurukshetra Development Board (KDB) had allocated land to TTD in January 2012. It took over five years involving 1000's of contractual labourers while 1,500 tonnes of graphite were introduced from Tamil Nadu to finish the temple’s miniature reproduction in Haryana’s holy city.
Over 70 monks have arrived in Kurukshetra from the primary Andhra temple to perform rituals.
Three separate temples had been built — one each and every for Vishnu’s two better halves ‘Bhudevi’ and ‘Sridevi,’ while Vishnu’s idol is positioned within the internal sanctum sanctorum of the third one.

The temple would remain open from 6am to 9pm for the pilgrims.
