MYSURU: If the whole thing is going as per plan, the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (Iskcon) of Bengaluru shall be soon be launching its well-liked midday meal programme for government schools in New Delhi. The government at Akshaya Patra Foundation, a non-profit wing of Iskcon, declare they are in a sophisticated degree of discussions with the Delhi government.
Akshaya Patra is an initiative by Iskcon, Bengaluru, to supply midday foods in rural schools for underprivileged children, with a mission that no kid will likely be disadvantaged of education because of starvation.

“We had been inspired by the model prevalent in Tamil Nadu and some parts of Gujarat, where cooked foods had been served. The idea used to be to organize foods in a centralized location and transport them to colleges and distribute to children. In the beginning, we fed 1,500 children and were given a good reaction from academics and headmasters,” he said.
