Kumbh 2019 budget estimate: over Rs 4,200 crore

NEW DELHI: Uttar Pradesh has drawn up an estimate of greater than Rs 4,200 crore for the preparations round subsequent year’s Kumbh Mela in Allahabad and has requested the central government to undergo greater than part the associated fee.

A senior UP government official, talking on the condition of anonymity, advised ET that the Centre had in theory approved a grant of Rs 1,200 crore and the total call for of Rs 2,200 crore was into consideration. “Out of the Rs 4,236 crore finances, just about Rs3,000 crore is for everlasting initiatives and upgradation in Allahabad city and rest for works inside Mela area,” he said.

Incidentally, the UPA government in 2013 had given Rs 341 crore to the then Akhilesh Yadav government in UP as its percentage of the associated fee and cleared a distinct package of another Rs 800 crore. Only Rs 1,017 crore of that was spent.
