NAVI MUMBAI: Passengers at Panvel railway station witnessed gripping moments of suspense as a youth dangled out of a educate that was almost about selecting up speed. The commuter, Ravi Salunkhe (25), who was trying to hop aboard the Panvel-Nanded Express, lost his grip on a metal handle and was dragged over 50m on platform 7 on Saturday afternoon until an uniformed railway body of workers rescued him. Salunkhe, an Alibaug resident, had bruised knees after being dragged at the platform.




Salunkhe, who was on his method to Parbhani and had a reserved seat, reached the station overdue. Just as he were given to the platform, the educate was pulling out and so he tried to get into the closest trainer by way of grabbing the handle on the door, however was unable to get a foothold and nearly lost his stability.


People within the trainer and the ones at the platform watched in horror as he frolicked, legs dangling within the gap between educate and platform, slowly slipping downwards, losing his grip at the handle.


Railway Police Force (RPF) constable Vinod Shinde (37), who was on accountability there, stated he ran in opposition to the youth on seeing him striking out of the shifting educate. "Another man on the platform tried to pull the youth to safety, but missed," stated Shinde. "I laid my hands on him, but he was clutching the iron rod firmly and so I had to yank him out." The tense moments ended when the youth and constable fell onto the platform. "The knees of the youth who got dragged were bleeding," stated Shinde.
