MotoGP: Marquez wins in Germany for ninth year in a row

BERLIN: Honda's MotoGP champion Marc Marquez gained for the 9th yr in a row in Germany on Sunday to stretch his lead over Italian Valentino Rossi to 46 issues.


Rossi completed 2d, 2.196 seconds in the back of, with Spanish Yamaha crew mate Maverick Vinales third at the Sachsenring circuit.


Marquez led from pole place, also his 9th in a row, however fell in the back of fast-starting compatriot Jorge Lorenzo at first prior to retaking the lead from the Ducati rider with 18 laps ultimate and pulling away.


Marquez's run of wins at the japanese German circuit started in 2010 when he was once competing in the 125cc class (now Moto3). He then gained in Moto2 in 2011 and 2012 and is on a series of six in MotoGP.


The Spaniard has 165 issues after 9 races to Rossi's 119.
