GUWAHATI: Five public sector oil and herbal gas companies signed a three way partnership settlement here on Friday to put in force a Rs 6000-crore gas pipeline grid task within the northeast. The five companies which signed the settlement are Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL), ONGC, GAIL, Oil India Limited and Numaligarh Refinery Limited (NRL).

The three way partnership company will now increase, construct, perform and deal with the herbal gas pipeline grid - spanning a distance of over 1,500km - connecting Guwahati with major cities within the northeast and also with major load facilities like NRL. The pipeline may also combine possible gas generating fields within the region. All the five companies will give a contribution similarly to the fairness required for the improvement of the task which has a four year-window for commissioning, that includes a year for pre-project actions.
