Pratapgarh SHOs turn away complainants, refuse to register FIRs

ALLAHABAD: In an undercover operation, station area officers (SHOs) posted at 14 out of 21 selected police stations in Pratapgarh refused to record FIRs when trainee constables approached them through posing as complainants.

The fact came to mild after IG (Allahabad vary) reviewed the status of test FIRs registered at 21 police stations.

The IG on Wednesday directed 21 trainee constables, which incorporated 4 girls, to visit a police station every in Pratapgarh and to get a test FIR registered through posing as a sufferers of a crime on Sunday.

On Wednesday, Sharma met the trainee constables who shared their reports of posing as complainants and getting an FIR registered at these police stations.

As according to the inputs gained through the IG, the trainee constables have been able to get FIRs registered at Raniganj, Maheshganj, Lalganj, Udaypur, Kunda, Nawabganj and Hathigaon.


At Mahila Thana, the women constable on duty did not permit the sufferer (trainee constable) to satisfy with the thana in charge and even misbehaved along with her.


At Kotwali Nagar, Kohdaur, Phatanpur, Mandhata, Kanhai, Aspur Devsara, Lalganj, Sangramgarh, Sangipur and Manikpur police stations, the undercover trainee constables have been pressured to switch their language or collection of occasions through the thana in fees or their subordinates on duty.


While interacting with senior police officers on Wednesday, the trainee constables stated SHOs and thana in fees misbehaved with them and even humiliated them at Jethwara, Antoo, Baghrai, Patti, and Lalganj police stations.


“The errant SHOs have been isused a strict warning and feature been requested to behave properly with complainants visiting police stations, else action could be taken in opposition to them,” stated Sharma.
