Coimbatore: It’s been every week since buses have began using alternative ways to achieve the Ukkadam Bus Stand due to the development of the Ukkadam Flyover connecting Ukkadam Junction with Athupalam. However, regional transport place of work (RTO) has not given permission for the rerouting.

Buses travelling through the Palakkad Road, including the ones from Palakkad, Chavadi and Kuniyamuthur, were directed to take the Puttivikki Bridge to achieve the bus stand, travelling an extra 2.five kilometres.
While 265 executive buses, including town buses, conduct a total of one,133 journeys through the Pollachi-Pothanur Road, 113 buses use the Palakkad Road to conduct 662 journeys.
Meanwhile, K Kathirmathiyon of the Coimbatore Consumer Cause mentioned that it is obligatory to notify the general public about rerouting of buses. Reciting the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988, he mentioned that it is obligatory to notify via newspapers about path diversion applied for less than 30 days. “For over a month, it must be notified through the legitimate gazette.”
Explaining that notification through the legitimate gazette might be carried out best through the district collector through the RTO, he mentioned diversion might be enforced best after the notification.
A state highways legitimate mentioned that they've submitted an offer to the city police commissioner regarding the gazette notification and the method will probably be finished inside a month.
A TNSTC legitimate mentioned that the diversion could also be growing logistic difficulties. “We had submitted an offer to the district collector a couple of days in the past looking for permission to hike the bus fare, as the gap has greater. It is not viable to conduct the products and services following the existing fare,” he informed TOI.
