COIMBATORE: A 30-year-old anganwadi building in Sulur, which has 12 students, a cook and a worker, is in a dilapidated situation, mentioned BJP north district secretary M Ilangovan on Monday.
Ilangovan mentioned the building’s partitions had developed giant cracks and would possibly cave in any time, endangering the lives and safety of the students studying there.

He recommended the district management to either shift the anganwadi to a brand new building or perform the necessary upkeep right away.

Ilangovan petitioned the district collector to conduct an instantaneous inspection of the anganwadi building. “The building has been housing the anganwadi in Kannampalayam for more than 30 years. My older son, who now completed faculty, was in this anganwadi for two years,” mentioned Ilangovan.


“Since no effort was made to care for this building and it has been uncovered to rains, winds and sun for such a lot of many years, it is in a nasty situation,” he mentioned.


He mentioned the building was now not have compatibility for career. “The door has damaged and cracked. At least three partitions have primary cracks. You can even see the steel rods on the terrace,” he mentioned.


“No one has even come to investigate cross-check the building, in spite of our complaints to the Sulur panchayat and taluk place of work. We want an inspection executed right away and the kids to be moved out,” he added.
