TN announces safety kits for construction workers

CHENNAI: The Tamil Nadu govt on Tuesday introduced safety kits to 25,000 labourers working in the development sector.
Making a suo motu announcement in the meeting, chief minister Edappadi Ok Palaniswami stated the move was once to ensure the security of development employees. “Each worker will get a package costing Rs 2,000. The package may have footwear, helmet, reflective jacket, gloves and protective eyewear,” Palaniswami stated.

The chief minister introduced that a new building would be constructed for the Directorate of Industrial Safety and Health in Coimbatore at a cost of Rs 4.3 crore.


District employment offices in Krishnagiri and Tuticorin may also get new structures.


The joint directors of the directorate of employment and coaching division in Villupuram and Salem zones will get new structures. These structures will help them higher their commercial talent training in the area.


The chief minister introduced development of ten sub-registrar offices in the commercial taxes division at a cost of Rs 10 crore.
