Toddler swallows cooker whistle, dies


MANDYA: A one-and-half-year outdated boy died due to asphyxiation after he swallowed a cooker whistle at Nagarakere village, Maddur taluk, past due on Saturday.


Around 8pm Saturday, Bhuvan’s grandmother Puttalingamma had left the rice cooker open and was once blending rice and sambar to feed him, as he crawled round. Spotting the whistle, Bhuvan picked it up and put it in his mouth. Puttalingamma, who saw him, picked him up and tried to take away it from his mouth, nevertheless it went deeper inside his throat.

The toddler was once rushed to a health care provider in Maddur, who was once ready to take away the whistle effectively from the meals pipe. But the toddler developed respiring issues and the physician instructed the circle of relatives to hurry him to either Mandya or Mysuru for further remedy. While on the right way to Mandya, Bhuvan breathed his last, police said.


Bhuvan is the son of Marilingegowda and Roopa, who paintings within the survey department of Kundapur town in Udupi district. The couple had left the child together with his grandparents Shivaramu, who runs an even value store within the village, and Puttalingamma, a homemaker, said HC Mahadevu, president, Nagarakere gram panchayat.


Bhuvan’s parents arrived within the village early Sunday morning. The ultimate rites have been performed at 11am.


Maddur police said no grievance has been registered.
