LUDHIANA: A day after the Ludhiana (rural) police claimed to have arrested five accused for drug overdose demise of a adolescence in Swadi Kalan, it nabbed two drug peddlers from Haryana. The peddlers had supplied the drug to every other dealer who gave it to a chum of the deceased.
The accused had been recognized as Sushil Kumar and his brother Sunil Kumar of Pilli Mandori village in Fatehabad district. The police have recovered 515 grams of heroin price greater than Rs 2.five crore from them. The other accused arrested previous had been Harpreet Singh Gulzari of Malak village right here and Jaspreet Singh Gaggu, Malkeet Singh, Baljeet Singh Neeta and Gurjeet Singh, all from Swadi Kalan. Baljeet and Gurjeet are house owners of a clinical retailer.
Ludhiana range deputy inspector normal (DIG) Ranbir Singh Khatra and Ludhiana senior superintendent of police (SSP) Surjeet Singh instructed the media that after Kuljit Singh died of drug overdose, a SIT was set up to investigate the case. After inquiry, a case beneath Section 304 (culpable homicide no longer amounting to homicide) of the IPC and more than a few sections of the NDPS Act was registered at Sidhwan Bet police station.
“During investigation, it was found that Kuljit, son of Sukhwinder Singh, was an addict who had won treatment many a time at de-addiction centres. He was admitted for six months’ treatment at a centre in Rasularha, Khanna. He asked his folks to get him discharged. The police officer who keeps a file of such components in Swadi Kalan ceaselessly visited his space for counselling. The officer, assistant sub-inspector (ASI) Jasvir Singh, instructed his folks not to get him discharged. But Kuljit was discharged a week before he died,” mentioned the DIG.
“Two brothers, Pushpinder and Gurpreet, who had been also drug addicts and buddies with Kuljit, supplied the drug to him. After injecting it, Kuljit died on June 29.”
Police officials mentioned right through investigation it was found that Pushpinder and Baljit got the drug from Harpreet. Harpreet disclosed that he had got the consignment from Sushil and Sunil of Pilli Mandori village. It was supplied to Kuljit on June 26 and 27.
“Sushil and Sunil are drug suppliers. On March 15, too, they had been booked in an NDPS Act case at Sidhwan Bet after the police recovered 11 grams of heroin from them. Another an identical case was lodged on April 14, 2017, at Division 7 police station, Ludhiana. Both had been out on bail. During investigation, Sunil confessed that he supplied the drug to Harpreet. The police have recovered 515 grams of heroin from the brothers. Gurjeet and Baljit ran Toor Medical Store and the former also has a laboratory within the village. They both supplied syringes and intoxicants to the youths with out prescription. Syringes and intoxicants had been recovered from them. Malkeet was also found involved in drug business and had purchased two tractors and two motorcycles by means of selling narcotics. As many as 150 intoxicating tablets had been recovered from him,” the DIG added.
