Undertrial flees Tis Hazari court

NEW DELHI: An undertrial prisoner, who used to be being produced ahead of a court docket at Tis Hazari, controlled to flee while being escorted to the court docket room. The accused, arrested through the Crime Branch for possessing unlawful guns, has been in jail for the past four months.


The man, Sahil Khan used to be being taken to court docket quantity 366 for a case underneath the Arms Act. During this, he shook off the hand of policeman escorting him and fled. Police suspect he may have boarded an autorickshaw to flee.


Khan used to be earlier focused on 9 instances and used to be declared a proclaimed culprit and used to be recently lodged in the Tihar Jail.


Additional DCP (north) Harender Singh said a case has been registered and efforts are being made to track down Khan. The CCTV pictures from the area is being scanned to track the break out direction. Police said Khan took benefit of the crowd throughout the court docket and controlled to vanish. Disciplinary movements had been initiated in opposition to the constable from the third battalion who used to be in control of escorting him.


Teams had been formed to track down Khan. The incident, however, brings to fore the lack of security inside the court docket premises. A couple of days back, a person used to be stabbed while being produced at the court docket.
