NEW DELHI: The executive on Saturday appointed Dr G Satheesh Reddy, who was once the medical adviser to the defence minister, as the new DRDO leader three months after the last incumbent Dr S Christopher retired.
The appointments committee of the cupboard stated Reddy shall be secretary of the dept of defence research and development for a duration of two years. The Modi executive in May 2015 had bifurcated the put up of medical adviser to the defence minister-cum-DRDO leader, which was once held through one person till then. While Christopher was once appointed the DRDO leader, Reddy become the SA to defence minister. Reddy has previous been the director of the Research Centre Imarat and programme director of the medium-range surfaceto-air missile programme.
