Kohli rates Edgbaston knock second to Adelaide 2014

BIRMINGHAM: Virat Kohli single-handedly stored India within the first Test with his maiden hundred in England however the captain would still fee the memorable knock 2nd to his 141 in a misplaced run-chase against Australia in Adelaide virtually 4 years ago.

"I don't know. This could come second to Adelaide. Adelaide remains very special to me. It was second innings and we were chasing a target (364) on day five," Kohli instructed 'bcci.television' after his masterful 149 on day two.



"I had total clarity in my mind that we were going for the target. That was a beautiful zone to be in. About this innings, I am very happy and grateful," he added.

Kohli had scored two loads within the sport at Adelaide in December 2014 but loss of support ended in India dropping the game by means of 48 runs.

But in hindsight we would not have been able to bowl at them. I am just happy with my preparation and not worried about the world," he stated.

His nemesis on the earlier excursion, James Anderson, tested him to the hilt but this time Kohli came out on best.


"It was difficult. I told myself it was important to enjoy this, take it upon me as a challenge to take the team far," stated Kohli when asked about his mindset within the heart where the other batsmen struggled.


"It used to be a take a look at of physical and mental power but I'm happy shall we come close to their overall and we are pretty much within the sport. When you'll help the group that manner it feels great.


"I have to commend the tail as neatly. Hardik Pandya batted truly neatly and Ishant and Umesh too carried out themselves at the finish. The support from them used to be exceptional," Kohli added.
