Mirchpur Dalit killing: Delhi HC finds 20 accused who were earlier acquitted 'guilty'

NEW DELHI: Delhi prime court docket (HC) on Friday convicted 20 individuals who were acquitted within the 2010 dalit killing case in Mirchpur, Haryana. The HC also brushed aside the attraction of 15 accused within the case.

"Jaat community deliberately attacked the people of Valmiki community," famous the HC.


A neighborhood court docket had in 2011 acquitted 82 of 97 folks accused of burning alive a 70-year-old dalit man and his differently-abled 17-year-old daughter in 2010. The court docket then again did not say the 15 others it did not acquit were 'to blame'.


"The incidents that took place in Mirchpur between 19 and 21st April 2010 serve as yet another grim reminder of the complete absence of two things-equality & fraternity in Indian society' " as famous by means of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar" in ultimate draft of Constitution, stated the Delhi HC.
