MANCHESTER: Smriti Mandhana persisted her dream run smashing her strategy to a 60-ball-hundred as she powered Western Storm to an easy seven-wicket win over Lancashire Thunder in a Kia Women's T20 Super League match.
Smriti hit 102 off 61 balls as Western Storm chased a goal of 154 set by means of the house team in 18.four overs.
The left-handed opener hit 12 barriers and four sixes in her innings. This was her first T20 hundred in franchise cricket whilst she has five half-centuries in T20Is.
Interestingly, Smriti's national team captain Harmanpreet Kaur didn't open her account for Lancashire.
Smriti's series of ratings in the pageant up to now has been 48, 37, 52*, 43* and 102. She is now the highest run-scorer in the tournament with 282 runs.
