Congress MP accuses Amritsar police force

AMRITSAR: Stating that a few black sheep within the police department are allegedly in cahoots with criminals, Congress birthday party's Amritsar MP Gurjit Singh Aujla expressed fear over deteriorating regulation and order situation and revival of drug peddling within the holy town.

Aujla on Monday joined the dharna staged via jewellers in protest in opposition to theft in a jewellers shop on Saturday late night within the busy Guru Bazar market situated within the walled town.

While speaking to media persons, Aujal alleged that a few police officers were hand in gloves with anti-social parts and weren't most effective encouraging and working criminals community on their instructions but were also offering shelter to them within the town.

While refusing to divulge their names Aujla said "I am going to write everything to chief minister detailing who is accepting 'mahina' from whom" he said.


He expressed fear that incidents of the threats to businessmen had greater within the contemporary past and so the drug business.


"People have voted us to power and we are answerable to them, I can’t allow few black sheep in the police force to create an atmosphere of fear in the city," said Aujla .


He apprehended that this can be a conceivable conspiracy to malign the image of the Amarinder Singh govt.


"This is the same police which had eradicated terrorism from Punjab, have they become so feeble to arrest a few dacoits," he said.
