Triple talaq ordinance will do injustice to Muslim women: Asaduddin Owaisi

HYDERABAD: AIMIM president and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi on Wednesday described the ‘triple talaq’ ordinance as a ‘unhealthy legislation’ and unconstitutional. “This ordinance will do great injustice to Muslim girls and it is going to be used to ship Muslim males to prison,” he mentioned including that this ordinance should be challenged in the court.
“What the government has completed is to divert the eye of the public from the rising petrol costs. There are corruption fees in Rafale deal. In the states going to polls in the near long run, the BJP has no likelihood of profitable,” he mentioned.

Owaisi also commented that Prime Minister Narendra Modi should also carry a legislation in opposition to males who desolate tract their better halves. Reacting sharply in opposition to the cupboard approving an ordinance on triple talaq, Owaisi chose the instance to carry focal point to the fact that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had discussed in his affidavit that he was married. However, it's public knowledge that Modi has been staying clear of his wife and not using a divorce. “There are 24 lakh girls abandoned by their husbands, together with a ‘bhabhi’ from Gujarat,” he mentioned.

On the triple talaq ordinance, Owaisi mentioned: “This ordinance is in opposition to the Muslim girls. This ordinance won't provide justice to the Muslim girls. In Islam, marriage is a civil contract and bringing penal provisions in it's wrong.”

“This nation requires a legislation for defense of those married girls who are abandoned by their husbands,” he mentioned. Owaisi identified that there are 24 lakh such abandoned girls. “The husbands in their affidavit say they're married but the wife is not dwelling with them. PM should carry a legislation for those abandoned married girls,” he mentioned.

“The Triple Talaq ordinance is anti-Muslim. We have all the time maintained this stand. This ordinance is in opposition to the Fundamental Right of Equality. This is a legislation particularly in opposition to Muslims. (AIMPLB) All India Muslim Personal Law Board and girls's groups should problem the ordinance in the Supreme Court. Modi govt wants to trouble the community, it isn't about justice,” he mentioned.

Owaisi puzzled the wisdom of the government in bringing in such an ordinance. He mentioned three years imprisonment in a triple talaq case itself confirmed that the government was discriminating in opposition to communities. “In Islam, marriage in a civil contract. The executive can not bring in prison provisions for it,” he mentioned.

Asaduddin Owaisi also argued that the burden of proof on the triple talaq would be on the girl. He identified that so long as the person was in prison, the wedding would no longer be annulled. Moreover, the husband who's in prison is meant to pay subsistence allowance to the woman. How is this conceivable?” he puzzled.

The Hyderabad MP mentioned the husband would plead ahead of the police that he had no longer uttered ‘triple talaq’. “In that case, he would break out the legislation,” he identified. Owaisi mentioned if the PM was so concerned, he should first allocate Rs 1,000 crore for abandoned girls’s welfare.

On RSS leader Mohan Bhagwat’s statement sounding that the RSS was no longer in opposition to Muslims, Owaisi mentioned his statements had been simply an attempt to get some ‘respectability’. “I problem Mohan Bhagwat if he'll reject what Gowalkar has written in his bunch of thoughts and Sarvarkar had written.”
