NEW DELHI: BJP lawmaker Nishikant Dubey stirred a significant controversy on Monday after a video went viral on social media appearing a birthday party employee washing the parlimentarian's toes and then ingesting the used water.
The Godda MP faced numerous criticism over the incident that happened on Sunday when he was visiting his constituency.
Dubey was visiting Kanhavara village of his constituency to announce the construction of a bridge where the onlookers recorded the incident.
The MP even posted about the similar on his authentic Facebook page. He, on the other hand, stated that it is no big deal if any individual sought after to wash his toes out of his own will. The submit on Facebook was later deleted.
Questioning the ethics of the BJP, the Congress attacked the birthday party over the video that surfaced on social media.
Congress spokesperson Randeep Surjewala demanded action towards Dubey and stated, "The arrogance of the ilk of BJP leaders like Nishikant Dubey who're ordinary offenders of insulting others, of breaking the tradition and of self-prophesying a God-like standing for themselves, is now out in open.
"Is this the tradition and ethics of the BJP that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP president Amit Shah discuss? Will they take action towards Dubey. If they'll now not take action then it will be proved that it is with lively improve and connivance of Prime Minister and BJP president that such elements like Nishikant Dubey continue to profess inhumane and insulting practices in lately's world," the Congress chief stated.
Earlier in July, Dubey grabbed headlines after he stated that his birthday party members concern that hugging Congress president Rahul Gandhi may result in divorce.
