NEW DELHI: The Congress on Wednesday finalised candidates for no less than 80 assembly seats in Madhya Pradesh however didn't claim any of them yet, in keeping with party resources.
Congress president Rahul Gandhi chaired a gathering of the Congress Election Committee (CEC) in the nationwide capital where top party leaders from Madhya Pradesh were present and held discussions on candidates for the November 28 assembly election, top party resources mentioned.
The Congress is seeking to oust the BJP in Madhya Pradesh, where the saffron party has been in energy for the closing 15 years.
It is learnt that another meeting of the CEC could be held soon to make a decision on different candidates for the assembly polls in the state.
