Four opposition parties to form grand alliance against TRS in Telangana

NEW DELHI: Four opposition events in Telangana - Congress, Telugu Desam Party, CPI and the Telangana Janasamithi Party - have made up our minds to form a “Mahakutami” (grand alliance) to take at the ruling Telangana Rashtriya Samithi (TRS) led by chief minister Okay Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) in the assembly elections on December 7. The announcement of the tie-up is predicted to come quickly.

Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) had dissolved the assembly final month to move in for early elections in the state.

The 4 events are working on a common minimum programme for the assembly polls, with explicit center of attention on farmers and youth, it is learnt, to problem KCR’s populist poll promises, with the overriding message that the TRS regime has no longer delivered at the promises it made for the people of the state.

A committee headed by Telangana movement leader Kodandaram, who formed the Telangana Janasamithi Party (TJS) six months in the past, has been formed to work out the CMP between the 4 events. Kodandaram had headed an umbrella group of all entities that participated in the Telangana movement and runs parallel to the TRS and has been preventing for the rights of humans of Telangana.

“Since elections have arise faster than it must have, the overall feeling this is that no unmarried birthday celebration can win against TRS and that’s why all events must come together to form a coalition. Interestingly, the pressure to form the coalition has come from the ground, this is from the general public and any birthday celebration that doesn't pass with it, could be observed as anti-people,” Kondandaram instructed the TOI, including that a common time table for the coalition is being worked out and “it is based on two targets -- restoring democracy and realization of the aspirations of humans of Telangana.”

"The seat sharing is being worked out and the Congress being the largest party will be getting the biggest chunk … if they take 80 seats and leave the rest for the smaller parties there should be no problem with the coalition," the TJS leader mentioned.

While Congress is a huge player a few of the opposition events, the tie-up with N Chandrababu Naidu’s TDP, which has some presence in the state with 119 assembly seats, is attention-grabbing for the reason that two events have found a common cause after staying aside as Congress was once blamed for the bifurcation of the state in 2014 by those who had been against it including TDP.

But the typical cause unusually has come from the TRS. Since many Congress and TDP MLAs moved to the TRS after the 2014 polls for his or her political survival in the state, the cadres of each events are now ready to make sure that those MLAs are defeated. This has introduced the Congress and TDP cadres shut and hence a probability of votes being transferred from one to some other aspect may paintings, sources in each events mentioned.
