Ready for simultaneous Lok Sabha, Haryana polls: Khattar

NEW DELHI: Haryana is able for simultaneous elections to the state assembly and Lok Sabha if the Election Commission (EC) so comes to a decision, leader minister Manohar Lal Khattar stated on Saturday.

“It is the prerogative of the poll panel when and learn how to conduct elections. We don't seem to be announcing this, if the Election Commission says that both Lok Sabha and state assembly elections will have to be conducted concurrently, we are able for it,” Khattar stated. He added that simultaneous polls would be recommended for the country and was hoping that through 2024 this may well be completed once the key nationwide parties are on similar web page.

Khattar claimed that his govt has equipped a “graft-free and clear” administration and cited delegation of powers of granting permission for ‘exchange of land use’ (CLU) to town and country planning division as one such step. This power was once with the chief minister’s administrative center since 1992. “I never used power for BBC - bharti (filling posts), bhrastachar (corruption) and CLU - which Congress was once known for,” the CM stated taking a swipe at his predecessor Bhupinder Singh Hooda.

At a press convention to mark his govt’s fourth anniversary, the CM focussed on his evolution from being a social employee to the new seat of the highest task in Haryana. He claimed he is not a political particular person. “For others, starvation of power is power best. For me, requirement of power is for social provider. Society is my circle of relatives,” he stated.
